Today is a snow day. I haven’t experienced a snow day in over 28 years…it’s been interesting, to say the least. I want to share some of my thoughts with you while I sit here, looking at over 12 inches of snow.
First of all, it looks beautiful…from inside the house. The house is heated, the temperature inside is comfortable, and I’m able to gaze out the upstairs window and see the blanket of white covering cars, roads, driveways, and trees. The trees look magnificent…from inside the house. Are you sensing a theme yet? I’m feeling a sense of peace and comfort…from inside the house (wink, wink).
I’m grateful to be settled in now. The car has been emptied out. My clothes are hanging in the closet. I have a nice routine falling into place. The snow has become an interesting plot twist. I assumed I would be past “snow days” by the middle of March. Instead, it appears as if I brought this weather with me. That’s okay. This is home now. I will adapt, I will be alert, and I will observe, with awe and wonder, the beauty that is all around me.
Wherever you are, my prayer for you is that you recognize the beauty that is all around you too. It’s there…sometimes we just have to look a little bit harder to find it. I’ll let you know tomorrow how this all unfolds. But, if you don’t hear from me, please send a snow plow! Hehe!
