“Mood of Choice”
“My joy can be my decision. I’ll make joy my mood of choice whenever possible today.” ~ In God’s Care, March 16
I could not pass up the opportunity to share this today. I have often heard the phrase “drug of choice”, but I have never heard the phrase “mood of choice”. I think we need to share this with as many people as possible. What do you think?
I’ve been a recovery life coach for a few years and I’ve had the privilege of working with some wonderful people. These are people focused on rebuilding their lives, shifting their perceptions, and changing everything they can in order to reverse the effects of addiction. Many of them are successful because they have learned to choose joy over complaining, love over isolation, and peace over anger.
A person does NOT need to be an addict to benefit from looking at their preferred mood of choice. It takes courage to look at these things. It takes strength to be willing to look at it, see the truth, and change it if it isn’t working in a way that is beneficial and rewarding.
What’s your preferred mood of choice? Today my mood of choice is joy-filled gratitude. I want everyone to see it in me when we interact with each other. It feels good to know we have a choice. So what will it be for you today?
