Balance is Tricky

What’s everyone up to today? I’m going to do a little bit of work and then I’m going to relax later this afternoon. Today I’m focusing on balance.

Balance is a tricky thing for me. I don’t know about you, but I often find myself swinging back and forth, like a pendulum, between work and play. Once I get involved with a work project, I sometimes over-focus on it. Then I forget to relax. Or, I decide I’m going to relax for a short time and I end up losing hours because I’ve lost my momentum.

Does this happen to anyone else out there? I’m sure I’m not alone with this. I have quite a few friends who have told me about their challenges with this very thing. All I know to do is to keep practicing balance. Becoming aware of an imbalance is the first step and taking action to reverse it is the second step. Awareness and action…works for me.

I guess I’ll wait to see how it unfolds for me today. I like the idea of setting the intention because it helps me focus on the task at hand. I have a plan and now it’s time for implementation. Wish me luck (hehe!). Blessings!

  1. Yes, Kathleen, I have created an imbalance in that when I take a nap, which includes falling asleep as I am reading, a whole afternoon is gone, even though I set an alarm! That snooze alarm is ignored way too much.
