The Birds are Singing
Now that I’m getting back into a more regular routine, I find myself rushing more often and not quietly sitting as much as I would like. There is so much to do and I don’t have as much free time available. This means I must focus and follow through on taking the time to sit, rest, and relax.
I’m doing that this morning. Before I start off my day with rushing to shower, dress, and drive to church, I’m sitting in my comfortable chair, reflecting on what is going on around me and jotting it down here. As I sit here, in this moment, I can hear the birds chirping and singing their songs. It’s absolutely beautiful to listen to their melodies. There are several songs going on at the same time. It’s magnificent to sit quietly and just listen.
This reminds me of how important it is to take time to be still. It isn’t enough to say this with my words. I must follow through on the action. It may only last for a few minutes out of my day, but it remains in my heart forever.
I’m grateful for the lessons I learned about being present to everything. I’m also grateful that I have learned to do this every day, not just when I feel like I have time to do it. Today I will be present, wherever I go. Today I will pay attention to those around me. Today I will enjoy being alive.
In Love and Light,
